Puzzles left up too long let me fail without penalty; then retry & win for credit!

Twice this month, I stared a long time at a puzzle.
On the 14th, 1195052
And today, 775312.

I finally submitted a try, which each time was incorrect. But maybe because of the long time it was open, the miss wasn't marked into my puzzle history. When I got back to solving puzzles again, the same one (not having registered) would pop up again. But each time, having been shown the solution, I could solve it, and get credit for the "win". I don't want such pity rating points. Fix your system! This never happened to me before this month.

This keeps happening. It's a small cheat code that I fall into whenever I'm patient enough to leave a puzzle open for long enough. When I come back after a day and fail, the system forgets I'm trying and doesn't penalize me -- it doesn't register it at all, but does inform me of the right answer. So after I hit the green arrow to request the 'next' puzzle, it presents the same one again, after having told me the solution. Is anyone listening?
