Puzzles needed for tactics trainer
This is from a game i recently played. The key moves are in the variation on move 23. In the main line i missed the forced mate and played something else...

Thankyou sNJesko, a lovely mate

I removed some material ( b2 bishop) to prevent Bg6 from being an alternative move giving white an advantage.
Fortunately I've now learnt how to get the relevant FEN from a diagram such as the one you posted (click on 'Analyze', then 'position set up' and 'copy the FEN to clipboard' at the start of the puzzle).

Tapani, I asked another approver for some help to make this problem more conclusive

and he came up with the very good idea of black continuing with Qb6.

I do wonder, do you accept compositions as well? if so, I would like to submit this one (also note the variations):
This is a counter-intuitive problem for tacticians, as the first instinct 1. Rh5 does win the queen, but loses the game. This goes against common patterns and actually force you to be observant and calculate deeper.

Great composition shoopi worth two puzzles.

Feel free to comment on the 430157 puzzle with a diagram explaining why Rh5 is losing.

Unfortunately g5 and Qb6 are both winning in ‘tactic from game2’,
when does g5 or Qb6 occur? remember that I said that the tactic should start at move 2. Also, my handle is "Nate23" not "Nate123"

here is a tactic from a 1 min game. people (including myself) complain about too little time, but I had to solve it in 5 secs!

Thankyou nate23

Unfortunately nearly every move from 'tactic from game2' has alternative winning moves. Sorry for getting your handle wrong in the forum. Fortunately I got it right in the analysis and source of

Which engine are you using ?
I'd say the problem with that puzzle is that black already has a decisive material advantage before the start of the puzzle. If the puzzle started after 3.Qxg5? and black's queen was removed from the board I think it makes a nice puzzle that actually works. Then every move other than Bh6 loses, whereas Bh6 results in an unclear ending.

Nice idea piphilologist but unfortunately even removing black's queen doesn't allow the puzzle to finish as both Bd2 +0.7, and Bf4 -0.02 win the white queen, the first for a bishop, the second move for a rook, and the difference between the two moves is not enough.

nate23, scid is correctly identifying there are other winning moves eg.12...Bd2+ (-11.82) and 12...Bf4 (-10.10). 12...Bd2+ would only be accepted if all other moves were no better than -1. Perhaps you thought Bf4 would be accepted if its evaluation were no better than -10.82? The important thing to remember is that each move in the puzzle should be the only way to win. Imagine how you would feel if you were playing tactics trainer and chose 12...Bf4 only to be told you were wrong and lose 16 points. piphilologist had a nice idea to save the puzzle by removing the black queen but 12...Bd2 is still not +2.5 greater than the next best move 12...Bf4
