Recent Puzzle Difficulty Change

Why did chess.com change puzzles to now incorporate a puzzle difficulty option? Why not keep it how it used to be, where the puzzles you get are roughly at your puzzle rating? This new system makes no sense. The standard puzzles served are so far below my puzzle rating it’s laughable. How is this a good change?
