Answer: Your opponent also has only a king and bishop left but has more time on the clock. If you give up your bishop to your opponent, it is an automatic draw. (If you each have one bishop and one king left, non-forced checkmate is still possible, so there's no automatic draw. This is for opposite square bishops. Same square bishops is an automatic draw.)
