What if your under 13, but you are very good at chess and chesskid doesn't suit you?

ZattirfVuli

I don't have kids. And, I'm not a professional chessist. However, IMHO, 14 yo is a moderate age to start seriously playing chess on the internet.

chekagain

as an actual kid on this site i have come across nothing worse than what you would find on an average social media site. some people do post some inappropriate things but the kids don't even have to go on forums and they can just block chat. there is also chesskid as an option since that only has puzzles and games.

Should be 18+ by the amount of rubbish that I get.

Age limits for a chess site are ridiculous. The same people who thought it was OK for kids to stare at a screen for 6 hours a day during the pandemic for school, think they aren't mature enough to enjoy a chess site? I think most of this trying to censor kids from the internet are just trying to control them and keep them as oblivious as possible to the outside world, so they don't know what their rights are. Notice which states are trying to ban kids from social media altogether, and their astonishing lack of children's rights. Coincidence? I think not.

I'm 12 age and I beat lots of adults and got nearly 2200 rating, playing multiple games on this app really helps and shouldn't be ban for younger people, chesskid app is not good and gets u bored too without any fun

i'm 12, for god's sake, and i feel it's perfectly alright for kids to sign up, so long as both their parents completely agree and know what their child is doing

I am 12 but I am replying like 15 years later

No one should need parental consent to sign up on a chess site, or to use a smartphone in general.

I made an account for my 6 and 8 year old. They plenty under my supervision. My children are way more disciplined than most kids. I teach a chess club at their elementary and recommend it to some, not all, of my students parents.
