i saw this puzzle in a book about oppenings.  this puzzle helps both the oppening strategy and matting patterns. the first few moves are optional though.  hope you enjoy. Smile

ehhh... lol u made us try to solve a game. sicilian defense is played quite often (i have just started to play it myself). Lots of variations, kinda hard to predict a 10 move mate after only the first move of the game =S. Intersting finish though

You do not understand how chess puzzles work. Each move must be the best defense or the next best defense if the best defense is clearly losing. Black made some obvious blunders, so this puzzle is flawed. If you were just trying to show a game, then post it as a 'sequence of moves' and not a 'puzzle to be solved.'

There is no point in making people memorize one Smith-Morra trap. I don't know why you think you are teaching people what to do, because you did not even show which of black's moves were blunders or what some better moves are.

In the future, people will be less confused if you just show the trap and point out where black went wrong.

i dont really see the point to 4...d6 wouldn't most people play 4...e6? it would block the bishop from putting pressure on f7
