I saw it. Very nice puzzle. What if black had played Re5 instead of h6 ?

let me explain my question. In the notes of the solution you can read that blacks last move before this puzzle-situation was h6. h6 was a bad move. I was thinking:'What was a better move for black to prevent the checkmate?'

My question for you is: Is ...Re5 a better life-saving move?

0...Rf5 allows 1.Nf6++ Kh8 2.Qg8#.

According to Fruit, the best move for Black would have been 0...Kh8, but White can force mate in six moves after that.
