a very interesting puzzle. Not realistic but interesting to look at.Ihave looked at a checkmate. 7. Bf3+ Kf2Β 8. Rf1#
Stop the spies!!!!!
How would this ever happen ? I only do research on chess positions that occur in a real match, that I would learn something from.
you are still burning up your mind setting up this kind of things. that's for your brain as lifting weight for your body :) still good.

Β Apparently chess problems are chic right now. See, there is more than one way to enjoy a sausage.

good one PurplePuppy, shakje and Gert-Jan. Thanks!
I think 3...Qxd3 is black's best try where 4. bxc3 would result in stalemate.Β So 4. Be3+ looks best for white which would prevent the stalemate.Β Black does get two minor pieces for the queen that way.
Β
But given that black responds with 3...Qxe7+ then white does have mate coming up.Β :)Β Maybe I am confused with this statement...
Β
Here's an endgame I made up. TRY TO STALEMATE! If there's any way to checkmate, let me know!
Β
Are you saying that white is trying for stalemate and black is trying to avoid it?Β :)Β Is black trying to force white to checkmate?Β Why does the statement ask if there were any checkmates if white is going for stalemate?Β :)Β After 3...Qxe7+ then 4. Nxe7 is stalemate.Β :)Β If white is going for checkmate then white can follow Gert-Jan's idea.Β :)
