Interesting .... and very hard no doubt. I'm a good problem solver but helpmates and selfmates were never my best sections. 8 Moves is a lot and Werner Keym is an innovative composer; his task won't be simple to achieve! But I'll make an effort.
The Keym Task

Keym Task = Valladao (underpromotion + e.p. + castling) + AUW (4 different promotion types) + Excelsior (P starts from original rank and promotes).
Thnx Rocky! Looks like a demanding task for the composer but knowing what it is helps a lot in solving it!
Magnificent! I found it much faster than I expected! But not without Rocky's help of course!
Wonder how many realizations of Keym's task exist with standard chess rules. Probably a few with SPG's (though the e.p. is hard there) but not that many alltogether I suspect. It is such a demanding task.
Btw, this is a good selfmate puzzle for the chess.com interface. Usually you would like the selfmate solver to fill in the moves for both sides but here the black moves are obvious. It's all about finding the white's and the puzzle interface is just right for that job.
It’s White to move and selfmate themselves in 8 moves. Tell me, what themes do you see?
