Nxe7 is the solution here. Because after Rxe7 Qd8+ Re8 then Qxf6 is checkmate. If instead of Re8 Kf7 is played then Qg8 is checkmate.

i thought it was a mate-in-2 puzzle. the right answer was Rg8+

i thought it was a mate-in-2 puzzle. the right answer was Rg8+

Oh yeah missed completely that after Rg8+ Kf7 Nh6# is mate (The move that I missed in my calculations was Nh6). Thanks for pointing it out. Also I just realized that the solution that I gave is completely wrong because black can play Qh4+ and then sacrifice the queen for the rook (It's no longer mate but white is still winning). Well I guess I was wrong. Rg8+ is the solution.
