If you want to see why 1...Re1+? doesn't work, click the magnifying glass button which takes you to the Analysis board with the position set up. Then you can test alternative moves against the engine.
Re1 Kf2.
I think Qb6 is best. if Kh1 Re1, if Qf2 Re1, if Be3 Qxc7, If Qe3 Rxe3 Rc8+ Re8+ King moves Rxc8. I dont know about Kf1 though.
Puzzle 1312405
I found mate in a couple of moves, about apparently its wrong. It leads to white almost checkmating black but misses completely. How are these puzzles made and solved?
Btw my thinking was
Rook E1, Queen F1
Queen D4, Bishop E3
Queen E3, King H1
