White to play & win (seems impossible!)
It may be because it's late, but I don't see why 2...Ka8 instead of 2...Kxa6 ?
After kxa6 white has Nd5 attacking the c pawn. after c7 white plays Nb4+ winning the pawn and the game.
@KnightErrant: If 1...Kc5 then: 2.Nf5 c2 3.Nd4 c1=Q 4.Nb3+ & takes the queen. This is why Kb7 & Ka8 are the best for black
Wow black was obviously not very bright...
how was black not bright? What moves were better for him?
I really don't know, sorry procyk, as i said just my friend offered it in the coffee shop. i'll ask him when i see him next!
Hi friends,
Last week, in a coffee shop, where my chess friends & I gather to play chess every week, one of them gave us this puzzle. we in a group of 4 tried so hard and after almost half an hour came up with the solution in cooperation. which made us cheer up
It's white to play, black's c pawn look unstoppable. and seems that white can only hope for a draw at best by taking the e pawn and regrouping his pieces to defend the king. can you find the solution:
