Can someone explain the difference between moving Qe5 vs Qf6 in this position? [White to move]

The same defense does not work after ..Qe5:

..Qe5 .Qg4+ Kb8 .Rc1 Qxe3+ .Kh1 Ne4! and white is completely destroyed.
