" oops, I farted in here"
Clock suckers!

What's going on? Was there just a glitch in the Matrix? What is that? Something seems different. Did that cat just walk by twice?

How does this work?
I'm winning and have 30 seconds left ... They have 5 seconds and will lose ... So they deliberately disconnect and my clock runs out ... So they win!?! It really feels like that sometimes.. It's happened to me twice today :(

Obviously there is another thread about it because there is an issue ... Or if not then maybe staff can give some definitive statement about it.
Either way it's pretty f#^#cking annoying .. Like some of the negative comments towards the opening post member.

I really wonder who it is that's actually trying to squelch the subject? People who perpetrate the same nonsense themselves? Or maybe people who don't play blitz and get hung out on a line by disconnecting jerks, and just want to discount on a problem the haven't had to deal with, or as much as regulars do? Or people who have nothing better to do than to sit by a stagnant board because someone's pulled that stunt?
And why does chess.com not respond? They could at least state a position or a policy, or explain why they don't try to address it, or say something is in the works.

I agree!
I've asked the same question several time since I joined this site a few months ago and no one - staff included - are willing to make a definitive statement about it.
Of course the answer is play better chess but I've played like 700 or something 2 minute game and I'd say at least 100 were lost due to this issue.
It does appear to happen less if I play on a more solid wifi as opposed to 3G or 4G .. But the games I've lost inexplicably on time FAR outweigh the games I've won on time ... When my opponent was clearly going to win.. Which can only suggest that if you disconnect at the right time it can freak out the server and make your opponent think he has made a move when he hasn't ... Maybe it only works IF the player disconnects with 5-10 left!?!
C'mon Chess.com put our minds to rest LOL!! :D

How was he trolling anyone!? He didn't mention any members names .. Just made a comment about the technical side of how the site operates? What is wrong with that BorgQueen?

Kco do you any answers to the question about the technical (alleged) issue? ... Coz your not exactly being constructive..

What do I want to know?
Whether or not its possible that an opponent can disconnect with 5-10 seconds of their time remaining ... Causing you to think you have made a move but really your clock is counting down to zero.. S the other player wins..
That's it ..
if the answer from staff or whatever is that It's not possible ... Or it's definitely Internet drop out or lag .. Then I'm fine with that .. It's just that no one seems to ever answer the question!!

the staff has already responded to your questions 2 week ago !

To all the players who deliberately abandon games on the clock and suck down the time of others, on behalf of the respectable players you cheat, I just want to say you are petty little maggots.
