Technology is great because this gives us the opportunity to have Chess matches around the world. But you are correct it can't replace the rush or different feeling when you are playing against someone if front of you! I really believe I'm even more focused in live matches.

Foremost, I believe that the advances in technology are wonderful. There are so many more efficient avenues for one to improve his chess, other than arcane books and postal chess ( by no means am I putting down books or postal chess, I enjoy them as well).
However, I had a strange incident the other day. I sat down to play an over the board game, however it felt awry. I began seeing the computer graphics before my eyes, and it took a few games before I became used to the wooden, polished pieces.
Now this is a radical idea, but over-the-board chess will not be replaced with live internet chess, right?
