adderall! (ADHD)
"Just be yourself"
Tell that to the people with seizure disorders, etc.
I've been prescribed Adderall for over two decades and take it as prescribed. If I didn't, my life would be unmanageable. I understand a lot of people are misdiagnosed, overprescribed, or simply addicts/abusers, but there are people that actually need it to simply function in daily life. It doesn't make me "speed," and I suppose it might help my chess game out a tad- just like it helps me accomplish any sort of task while limiting impulsivity.
The problem is when people that do not need to be taking it, do. Not only does it stigmatize those of us that rely on it for medication, but it could really mess you up in the long run. Just like morphine has a medicinal application- there's a reason these drugs should be used correctly and I'm sure it goes without saying.
