Some people are not in into anime, maybe of their age, my father always saying this, "Why are you excited watching an ugly character like that?". "Hehehe.. no comment". My favorite anime is "Bleach" and "Prince of Tennis".

the movie was kick ass, better than all three Pirates movies. Nothing beats 100 foot tall robots beating each others asses!!!!!

"Hikaru no Go" is my choice...
Kodomo No Omocha and Kaleido Star are my favorites. Also like Samarai Champloo, Trigun, Irresponsible Captain Tylor. Gantz and Berserk are way to bloody for kids.
I own about 40 or 50 anime series. I am in the middle of watching InuYasha right now. I was disappointed in Robotech. It would have made a better book than an anime. All that narration and being multi-generational. Reminded me of a lot of Sci-fi.
Trouble Chocolate was fun. And Hand Maid May.
I even went back and watched StarBlazers (too Robotech like not as much fun as I remember when I was younger) and Speed Racer (had more action per episode than I remember).

I liked Speed Racer and Battle of the Planets when I was a kid. Do those count as Animé?
I love anime!!! My avi is megaman XD, because my brother thinks i act like him (and so do quizzilla quizzes, but i don't!). But i am a Lan Hikari fangirl! yays :D.
my fave animes (and some are mangas)*rolls out a huge scroll*-megaman nt warrior, card captor sakura, sailor moon, maburaho, full moon o sagashite, naruto, FMA, the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya, rozen maden, kashimashi, bleach, fruits basket, galaxy angel, mahoromatic, i used to like pokemon digimon and yugioh, and i like a couple more i've only seen a little bit of.
My friends have been introducing me to anime, so far I like the experience... can't remember any names though, I get them all mixed up. I have heard that the people who make the names throw their silverware into the air and make the names based on the sound the silverware makes when it all lands :)
actually, animes are short for japanese anime; american animation is simply called "cartoons". i do love the simpsons and family guy :D. they are awesome!!!

One Piece is the greatest anime ever made..objections? watch 328 episodes, and then disagree with me :). Naruto is great too, Hikaru No Go is great, Prince of Tennis, Death Note..Hajime No Ippo.....mm nothing else on my mind right now

Anime does indeed mean "Japanese Animation"...a chess game to whoever can figure out what anime my name came from (just for fun...I'm not trying to say I'm an excellent or even "good" chess player). I will tell you this...it's "oldschool" when anime was in its inception (in Japan). My most favorite anime (I agree with pawnshover, though, as far as its gore goes) is Berserk...if you like anime, and haven't seen Berserk...you must watch it. There's very little classical (or/and archaic) literature that even compares to the plot and characters of Berserk, if one was to ask me. Also among my favorites are: Hellsing, Iria, GoldenBoy (HILARIOUS!), Ninja Scroll, Naruto (the plot is good, but the masses are hooked on the animation alone which kills me), Gundam Wing, OutlawStar, Samurai X (the OAV), Tenshi Muyo (the OAV), and of course...DragonBallZ. The reason I've included DBZ (DB/GT go hand-in-hand with DBZ) is not because of the animation OR the plot...it's because it was the first anime that interested me enough to actually research anime and learn my sh**, for lack of better diction. Also one I should have included and that was impactive on my "anime-mind" was Armitage (either I and II or II and III). I agree that this is a chess site (catering to Daemon Panda) but I couldn't help capitulating to an Anime thread! Bwaaahahahaha
