How can my average opponent be in ONLINE chess 1090 rating keeping in mind that i have never played an opponent who has a rating under 1200 and my actual rating is 1650 and i usually play with opponents over 1400.

Highest: 1650 (Jul 1, 2015) Avg. Opp.: 1098 Best Win: 1782 (costinstoiculescu) Today‘s Rank: #38,144 of 458,389 (91.5%) Timeouts: 0% (last 90 days) Time/Move: 2 hr 30 min Total Games: 135 (100 W/ 31 L / 4 D)

That is your average opponent for Online/Correspondence chess. That statistic is also based over the past 90 days.

So, from today, that puts you back to the beginning of April.

Your opponent ratings:

  • 1163
  • 1076
  • 1080
  • 1085
  • 1090
  • 1095

So, looks accurate to me.

Thank you for your response, i find it satisfying because i forgot that i have recently played a friend of mine with a lower rating and i didn't know that the average is calculated over the last 90 days.

Still the 90 days period doesn't apply to my blitz rating because over the last 90 days I've played only opponents over 1300 rating and still my average is 1181.

And what I don't understand is what relevance does this average has, if before playing these last matches my ONLINE average was above 1400 after more than 100 matches and after playing a few matches my average rating drops to 1098.

These ratings should reflect(in my oppinion) al the mathces i've played overall not just some recent ones.

And keping in mind that online mathches can last to over a year, what relevance does it make to calculate an average over 90 days?

If a 1100 online rated player uses this info and chalanges me I would probably crush him, the opponent average being irrelevant at this point.

Please give you feedback.

Thank you!
