I wasn't sure which forum to post this in, but since this is also outside of chess, I decided that it was ideal for off topic since I find it very helpful. The idea is not to let anything distract, as life is always full of obstacles. Knowing how to overcome those obstacles is a way to acheive your goals.
@trysts: What I mean is that life is always full of challenges, or in this context, obstacles. So, it goes with the saying, "When life throws a lemon at you, make lemonade." That way, you are overcoming the obstacle.
When i read Trysts note, it made me think of something i came across last night, "The world breaks everyone/and afterward (many are strong at the broken places)."
