Well, Maybe or maybe not. Maybe not: because card counting is just a way of calculating probability, and you must do that with your brain, you cant use any electronic devices nor any other kind of machine just, math and your brain. I think is just a matter of skill.

Counting cards is not illegal but casino's have people in surveilance who can count, they watch to see who bets in accordance with the decks ' count ' consistantly and are in their rights to ask you to leave. Although you will keep your winnings and get out of there in one piece, you can be banned from returning.

Black jack offers the best chances of any casino game (without counting), like chess openings you need to learn what is called the black jack matrix which dictates your best options of hit/stand/split in accordance with the dealers 'up card'. If my memory serves me correctly the odd's are -0.75, in the casino's favour when using the 'matrix' system of play and can reach very reasonable +3.s when coupled with counting, maybe more.

For someone starting out I would take a look into standard deviation so as to avoid confusion about probability, if you're unsure.

Hope this helps, yes I can count.

Card counting is not cheating, it is skillful playing. This has been established in a court of law. However, the casinos are not going to allow you to sit there and take their money. And they usually do not kick you out. They will simply tell you that you are welcome to play any game except Blackjack. Possible card counters are fairly easy to detect by dealers and floor supervisors. Then surveillance will have a closer look and make a determination.

hi lo is the most accurate method and there are two versions this is known as otion 1 and just a matter or giving a card a value eg.All 2's in the deck carry a value of 0 in this system and don't change the count when they are played. The 16 other small cards (3-6) are counted as plus 1 as they are played. The 12 middle cards (7-9) are considered neutral cards and do not change the count as they are played. The 16 big cards (10-King), excluding Aces, are counted as minus 1 as they are played.

There are separate rule variations for tracking Aces in the Hi-Opt I counting system. This system doesn't keep track of Aces in the card count but there are still changes to basic strategy that need to be made depending on how many aces have been played.......

Many players use external things such as chips, fingers, or feet, to keep track of how many aces have been played.

opt2 method is more complicated as it isnt just adding or subtracting 1 but there are values of 2 as well....

the ko method is not as accurate but easier to get.....

a complete count in hi lo will be 0 .....in ko will be 4

but remember the casinos dont just use 1 deck!!!

I don't know very much about card counting, but in addition to what others have stated, I think the casinos can also use larger multi-decks and shuffle the cards more often to dilute the effect of card counting.

Card counting is not cheating, although casinos want you to believe it is. They don't like you doing it because it increases your chance of winning. If you can card count, do it

Card counting is a blackjack strategy in which players track the cards dealt in order to predict the probability of certain cards appearing. This helps them decide when to hit, stand, double, or split. I highly recommend reading this guide on Insurance is an extra bet in blackjack when the dealer's up card is an ace. Players bet that the dealer's up card is a 10, giving the dealer a blackjack. If true, the player wins at odds of 2:1, offsetting the loss of the initial bet. However, this is generally not recommended due to unfavorable odds.
