Echidnas have a beak actually.
Knuckles:
Echidnas have a long sticky tongue and eat ants and termites. They are commonly known as "Spiny Anteaters". These animals range from 12-18 inches long and weigh around 10 pounds (sry for ppl who use grams :>). Short spines about 2 inches long cover their bodies, interspersed with with coarse brown hairs. (The underside is just hair)
There are 4 recognized species. These 4 are the Short-beaked echidna (Tachyglossus aculeatus), Eastern long-beaked echidna (Zaglossus bartoni), Western long-beaked echidna (Zaglossus bruijnii), and Sir David's long-beaked echidna (Zaglossus attenboroughi). Echidnas live in earth burrows and rock crevices, usually alone—along with hunting solo. They are found across Australia and New Guinea. 🦘
Order: Monotremata
Only egg laying mammal besides platypus (which is also Monotreme.) Also produce milk.

(i'll be rlly plain and simple—i'll just quickly summarize the context.)
right vs left.
for small kids:
FUN FACT: The left hemisphere of your brain controls the right side of your body—and likewise, the right hemisphere of your brain controls the left side of your body. 😵💫
Some info: ***note that not everything described below is addressed in the image above.
THERE IS ALOT MORE ABOUT THE BRAIN BUT WHATEVER.

You have nerves in your body. Or. . . I—I mean if you don't have nerves in your body—then you don't have nerves in you body—*ahem* :>
So basically now, we are going to be talking about reflex movements; movements that your body makes. A nerve reflex is a rapid, involuntary, protective action where your body reacts to a stimulus without conscious thought, using the simplest nerve pathway, a neural shortcut called a reflex arc that bypasses the brain for speed. (which may involve as few as 2-3 nerve cells)
If you were to skibidi ohio negative aura place your hand on a hot stove, a reflex arc helps prevent severe damage to the tissues in your skibidi whoopsy hand. When your hand touches the object, sensory neurons in the skin transmit the sensation of pain to the interneurons in the your spinal cord. The interneurons then transmit an emergency signal to motor neurons (which control your muscles so u move), which cause your hand to jerk away from the burning stove. At the same time the reflex arc caused your hand to jerk away, you felt pain because the signal from the pain receptors finally reached the parietal lobe of your brain (remember? sensations?) and ya u didnt feel pain as fast as usual bcs the interneurons sent the emergency signal to ur motor neurons which worked faster then the relay neurons. the interneurons did that bcs they think they are so alpha.
After this a lightskin stare kitten will start rizzing you up.
If this does not happen to you then you do not have nerves.
(jkjk)
Imagine this!
@your_clumsy_heart_surgeon was being so clumsy and oops daisy fell on their back 🤕. It was so bad that their spinal cord was too damaged so that they could not walk again. They became a paraplegic! 😭
😸 FORTUNATELY, their automatic reflexes in the paralyzed limbs still function!
How can this be possible? (Answer in dms. I might give you a reward 😱)Try this out:
Sit down with your legs crossed so that one knee is on top of another. Now, karate chop the top leg (not too hard) on the area right under your knee. Your leg will automatically kick up. It might feel weird. This is a knee-jerk reflex that involves only 2 neurons. It actually does this to maintain balance and posture.
If your knee did not kick up then you don't have nerves.
we might discuss cerebrum vs cerebellum + thalamus++ if i make facts cramming part 2.
