True Blue: Legitimately Australian.

Digger: Australian Soldier.

Two-Up: A gambling game (played with coins) that is played on Anzac Day.

North East South and West: Never Eat Soggy Weetbix.

Mates Rates: Special price given to friends.

Cobba: Mate, friend.

G'day Mate: ‘Hello’ Greeting.

Bloke: Man.

Sheila: Woman.

Ankle Biter: Child.

Bludger: Lazy, a bum.

Bogan: Redneck or someone acting strange.

Drongo: An idiot, fool.

Hoon: Hooligan.

Ocker: A rough, uncultured, Aussie male.

Galah: An Aussie Bird (Cockatoo) or a stupid person.

Mongrel: Someone or something of mixed kind or uncertain origin, usually a dog.

Larrikin: Prankster.

Legless: Drunk.

Rapt: Very happy.

Reckon: For sure.

Rellie/Rello: Relative.

Goon On Ya: Good Job.

Hard Yakka: Hard work.

Sus it Out: Investigate something.

Yonks: A long time.

Ganda: To look at something.

Noggin: Head.

Furphy: A lie, something unbelievable.

Chinwag: To have a chat.

Cark it/Cactus: Means something is ruined or died. Eg. “My car’s just carked it and I need a lift.” 

Pull your Head in: Mind your own business.  

Spit the Dummy: You are really angry and had enough.  

My Shout: Means it’s your turn to pay. Eg. “I'll shout you dinner tonight.”

Woop Woop: An unknown place. Eg. A term used when we’re explaining somewhere a long distance away.

She'll be Apples: Don’t worry, it will be alright.

Sweet As: Something you like, it’s great, excellent.

Stoked: Happy. 

No Worries Mate: No problem, no drama, its all good.

Crikey: An expression of surprise. Eg. “Crickey, that’s a big fish!” 

Fair Dinkum: Real, true. Eg. That bloke was fair dinkum when he said he was an Aussie. 

Dead Set: True.

Defo: Definitely.

Bail: To cancel plans.

Beauty: Something great.

Iffy: Something suspicious or unreasonable.

Bonzer: Great.

Hooroo: Good bye.

Devo: Devastated.

Arvo: Afternoon. 

Goin’ Bush: Going to a natural area, away from the city. Eg. “I’m going bush for the weekend.”

Outback: Any remote or uninhabited inland district of Australia.

Copper: Police.

Booze Bus: A police vehicle used to catch drunk drivers.

Chuck a U-ee: Make a U-Turn while driving.

Clucky: Feeling maternal.

Crook: Sick.

Sickie: Day off work.

Flat Out: Busy.

Shoot Through: Leave.

Sickie: A sick day off work.

Billabong: Pond in a dry riverbed.

Petrol Station: Gas Station.

Togs: Bathers.

Budgie Smugglers: Speedos.

Shark Biscuits: Kids at the beach.

Chrissie: Christmas.

Ciggy: Cigarette.

Durry: Cigarette.

Facey: Facebook.

Flannie/Flanno; Flannelette shirt.

Daks: Tracksuit pants.

Runners: Trainers, sneakers.

Thongs: Flip-flops.

Sunnies: Sunglasses.

Brolly: Umbrella.

Dunny: Toilet.

Footy: AFL/Aussie Rules Football.

Knickers: Female underwear.

Lollies: Candy.

Maccas: McDonalds.

Mozzie: Mosquito.

Swag: Single bed you can roll up.

Tinny: Boat or can of beer.

Barbie: Barbecue.

Esky: A cooler.   

Billy: Outback teapot used over the fire.

Tucker: Food.

Bush Tucker: Bush Food. Eg. Witchety grubs.

Brekky: Breakfast.

Sanga:  Sandwich.

Snag: Sausage.

Chook: Chicken.

Choccy Biccy: Chocolate Biscuit.

Goog: Egg.

Avo: Avocado.

Coldie: A beer.

Cab Sav: Cabernet Sauvignon.

Full as a Goog: Means you’re as full as an egg, you’ve over eaten.

Choc A Bloc: Full.

Chockers: Very full.  

Stuffed: Full.
