Would anyone help me with changing a gif slightly to use as a club background?

Am mad busy but pointing to a succinct tutorial might work.

We just need to make the colours a bit mutated on the left so that the font stands out for everyone's average theme.

I've never really messed with a moving gif you see, even though I've figured out how to use gimp and things by myself.

Are you wanting your background to be a moving gif?  Or do you want just one frame of the gif?

No we have this club that has a good gif for the club, it does move slightly (not too much) but I just want to change the colouring somehow on the left, so that our tabs show up better?
