Can you read the mind of your opponent about his moves?

Avatar of BlueEyedLady

Good trick of the mind. I wonder if he dreamed that up in his sleep. LOL

People often dream about anything they think about a lot, especially if it involves problem-solving.  So if you are dreaming about chess, it means you are putting a lot of effort into it, and your mind places some importance on it.

I'm a lucid dreamer and often play chess with other lucid dreamers (while awake, of course).  We think about and plan our dreams a lot more than most people, and since we play each other, the topic of chess comes up in our dreams occasionally. For me it's usually just an aside, like, we happen to be playing a game of chess in the dream, but the game is not the focus of the dream.

Do any of you play chess so much that you dream about chess moves in your sleep? Just curious.

There were times i was dreaming of the chess queen.

Yesterday I watched about 6 or 7 hours of broadcast here on chess.com tv, and I kept hearing some master's continuous ramblings on some chess position in my sleep.Smile

My chess dreams are usually a kind of the tetris effect, and it's disturbing.
