What would be the point? If the engines could solve 17,000 puzzles in 5 minutes (or some ridiculous number), what would that tell you?

You couldn't even make sense of it.

What would be neat is to do it across a range of different hardware- an old 486, a Pentium, a xenon, a dual core, all the way up to modern computers and compare the results.

mmm... what is the point in playing chess? For me it`s just a game to have fun while learning and thinking. grin.png I know that the engines would crush the puzzles pretty hard, but personally I would fined it very entertaining to see for example how two engines get the same set of puzzles at the same time and try to solve it as fast as possible (like a race). Moreover I believe there are some positions engines dont understand and then their would also fail. That would be pretty funny. ^^

Kind regards,

Lord Pineapple
