(SPOILER ALERT for Star Wars and JoJo's Bizarre adventure: golden wind)
hello there! today I'm going to compare two of my favorite villains, Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars and Diavolo from JoJo's Bizarre adventure: golden wind. These 2 characters are surprisingly similar and to get started, I'm going to talk about their backstories.
I'm pretty sure everyone knows the story but I'm going to recap so this makes more sense. Anakin Skywalker was a force sensitive born on tatooine to his single mother, Shmi Skywalker who had to let him go so he could become a Jedi knight. Years later, Anakin turns to the dark side in an attempt to save the love of his life, Padme and becomes the infamous sith lord Darth Vader, he was later defeated by Luke Skywalker, his son.
Diavolo was born in an all-female prison, no one had an idea who his father could be. Diavolo was later raised by a priest who wanted Diavolo to follow in his footsteps. Everything was going fine until he fell in love with Donatella Una. They were truly in love, but Diavolo couldn't be with her since priests can't get married. Diavolo then runs away and becomes a powerful stand using crime boss who tries to keep his backstory as secret as possible. Years later, he orders team Bucciarati to bring him his daughter, Trish Una who is a stand user as well. Instead, Trish teams up with team bucciarati and Giorno Giovanna to defeat him.
Now time to acknowledge their similarities:
-have single moms
-no idea who dad is
-defeated by their own kid and their friends
-try to keep backstory secret
-turn evil because of their girlfriend
-have a rare/unique power
-kid has the same/very similar power that they do
-have memeable deaths (Anakin didnt have the high ground and diavolo was put into infinite death loop)
