Yes Pulp, according to some that maybe so.  My question is, in a none religious vein, is where did Satan come from; who invented this character?  And Kay, I'm sure that many hold that opinion, except of course is that Thatcher existed to pursue her aims, Satan is an invention.

Doh! Sorry, just realised my cross posting. Apols everyone.

Yaaa booo.  I thought this thread was going to be about a character of fearsome reputation.  Apparently he's known for striding around in a red suit and poking people with his pitchfork.  Quite handsome too going by some of the photies!

Of course Satan cuts a dash - he's a slick mover too, as his First Mate and Chief Lieutenant will testify. Well, what did you expect? A fat, sweaty geeza with no hair who can't view his own genitals without the aid of a mirror?

The Lord of Darkness could turn any woman's head. In fact, he could probably turn the heads of a few men too, though I doubt the likes of that hapless eejit Jubba the Thug would ever admit to this Foot in Mouth

On that same note (excuse the terrible pun there), here's one of my most treasured DJs doing what he does best. Me and Mrs GL can dance to this shit all night:

DJ Moshic. Live at La Caseta, Argentina, 2009:

You forgot drugs. That's most remiss of you, given that it's a subject close to most everyone's heart (yes kids, drugs are drugs whether they're legal or not).

The devils music GL!  That's it, you've given the game away that you are indeed an evil entity come totake away our freedoms!!  Laughing  Betcha like Floyd and Brian Eno too btw... Anyway, can we put this chat onto it's proper thread please as this one was established to praise the Staff on Chess.com for acting against bigotry, which they do after being reminded a few times about the rules Laughing

I would like to add my congratulations to chess.com staff for the wonderful recent communication that I had with them regarding problems with tournaments.

First of all, for the staff member (who shall remain like Clint Eastwood's character in a spaghetti western, i.e. nameless) I would like to thank you for your tactical delays with my 3 messages that i sent you. I fully appreciate you sending back to asking for links to the 2 mentioned tournaments, when you have my name right in front you. You must be terribly busy not to take a millisecond to click my name & find out which tourneys I was referring to.

Secondly, i would also like to thank the technical support team along with the staff correspondence team for working so swiftly on another tourney issue.

Your speedy 10 day problem solving dynamic meant that 100 members on here were inconvenienced, while I am sure you worked 24 hrs around the clock to resolve a rather minor issue.

However, everything can be used as a source of information. Chess.com, i am sure like any large company the main priority should be an excellent customers support team. Without the customers, there is no company & therefore no jobs for the company. It is a two way system.

Try to get real with the customer support please staff, right now it sucks.

eric, get staff together and set the ground rules. it's not that difficult.

Yes it is difficult.  The staff, and mods are in a no wn situation.  Enforce the rules, and some arent happy.  Dont enforce the rules, and some arent happy.  Give some rules some slack, and some arent happy.  Tow the line, and some arent happy.  No matter what the staff/mods do, someone wont be happy.  Then you have those that blatantly ignore the site rules, and still complain when they are punished.  And you have those that are never going to be happy, no matter what you do.

I would guess the staff and mods are no more united in their views than any other staff team, I feel sorry for the person who has to manage them to be honest....

And there are always the capability issues to deal with....

I hope there are some rewards from Chess.Com for the unpaid Mods, seems like a thankless task to me.

Clint Eastwood's name was Joe in the western. Just saying.

I think you will find Kay that in that particular movie Eastwood is the 'man with no name'.

Are you getting it mixed up with Joe Kidd?

I pressume so.

Less whisky = a better memory.

Or so i have heard Sealed

Maybe CM, but they don't have to do it.  All I ask for is consistency.

*sigh*

we both know this is how it is, and it can't be blamed on the years long transition to v3.

i hate to say it, nik, but, get used to it.

this goes to my previous post. it seems easy to respond (as staff) when you can with your interpretation of tos. it's another to state you are looking into it and it's a whole different situation when there is no response.

the sad part is that i've been here over 6 years and the only things that have been changed (read: enforced) are rules against spamming and any discussion of politics or religion publicly.

try to get an answer about how things run here-for customers-and one may be waiting.

personally, i would think that responding to a question about a tournament would take precedent over spamming a thread, as i did just minutes ago to a topic that had penis in the title and made no sense.

Their are numerous rewards.  But if youre doing it for the rewards, youre doing it for the wrong reason.

Also good I feel that we're no longer subjected to endless postings about the various number of gods.  It's the rules y'see, that are now being implemented.  Before a couple of weeks ago the religious types were given free reign to clog up the forums professing their love of one of the gods.  I'm sure that if people want to be heard about their love of a god then there are area's that they can do it without breaking rules.

I agree, not a simple task G.P, but all I ask for is consistency and if it's achieved, then I'll be happy.  While some may push the boundaries a little on politics, (me included) the posts are rarely offensive.

We're told that the forums are now monitored more thoroughly but we still see many abusive, offensive remarks from the 'Right' being left on display.  Meanwhile, other threads are closed down quickly if the arena of politics is touched on.  It sometimes appears that the issue of politics is frowned on more so than openly offensive posts designed to insult and inflame.

"Left/Right" has nothing to do with anything.  If it violates the site rules it get dealt with.  It may not get dealt with as timely as some want, but it does get dealt with.

You want to help?  Report things to the staff.

15,000,000+ members and a limited number of staff/mods.

The members that whine the most about not being able to discuss politics, etc. in the public forums, have a place to do that.  Why dont they?  Because the large majority would rather be "seen" than "heard"

Avatar of thegreat_patzer

I strongly agree

the reason there isn't MORE consistency is that there only so many mods and most people won't report threads.

if you feel like something is Unacceptable REPORT it!

What are you doing it for?

Avatar of Pulpofeira

Voluntary referees for lower football divisions do it for being sputted, insulted and threatened, for example.

Lol  Sort of masochism :)
