It’s clear that this guy here is a warmonger. An atheist activist whose life goal is taking out Christianity. However, I seem to have dug a trench here.

There are several guys here, but if you mean me your just... not correct. I came to a debate forum for a debate for fun (and to make sure there isn’t any new information to make me challenge my beliefs- this is insanely important to me) and this is probably the only time I’ll think about religion for a few months.

You guys also make no attempt to refute the credibility of the Bible, as well.

A mass murderer will have some time actually converting.

Hitler committed suicide, an act that would disqualify you from heaven under Catholic rules.

That’s not our job. The onus is on YOU to validate the claims of the Bible.

Well it seems like you have not made any refutations, so therefore we cannot refute your refutations!

Right, because He made the rules. He can't tolerate sin against Him.

But God can do anything. You started a sentence with "He can't"

He can't do, like, logical contradictions; for example, the 'can God make a rock too big for him to life' question is meaningless nonsense.

No no no. Your sentence didn't contain a logical contradiction. You said he couldn't tolerate sinners.

It's easy to tolerate sinners, we do it all the time.

Plus, if God is so great, why not just fix the problem? "Oh a snake had a guy eat an apple, I can't possibly fix that"

God sounds pretty lazy actually.

You cant just throw stuff about God around, first off He’s NOT lazy. Stop dissing Him.

God in the old testament is much worse than lazy. He's vain, vengeful, and casually cruel. He commits all sorts of atrocities including the genocide of the Canaanites and murders innocent babies in Egypt, all in a vain attempt to gain more worship and prove his power.

Ehhh.... I suggest you read some books on this before you actually attempt to attack God.

contradictory theories have zero that I'm aware of.

I do not claim to believe that the big bang was "the beginning" but it certainly is responsible for the universe we can observe.

Could you at least give some examples of these 'contradictions' as you call them?

I don’t know who you’re referring to, but personally I’m all about taking out religion in general. Not just Christianity. Because I believe it will make the world a better place.

So no morals? Yeah, totally gonna make this world nicer.

What? No, I’m a big fan of morals. Just not religion. You and I both have secular morals that tell us slavery is wrong. The difference is, these secular morals cause YOU to have to do mental gymnastics to explain why the Bible explicitly condones slavery. And other morally repugnant teachings in the Bible.

where do your 'secular morals' come from?

Mine? Well being.

wellbeing of who?

First, of people. But also animals.

Avatar of jaredjm

what people? Is your wellbeing more important than others'?

All people. Your question is too vague. Give me a moral question and I’ll give you my best answer. And not moral questions are easy, though the vast majority are easy enough.

Avatar of jaredjm

So, is your wellbeing more important than somebody else's?

Let's say you could murder someone and steal an astonishing amount of money, and get away with it. Let's say you would then use some of that money to vastly benefit the poor and underprivileged. Would this be right? And if so, or if not, why?
