To answer what you 2 posted, I have to say this: my argument proves that God exists. I never said HOW he made the universe. I never said HOW he made life. I never even said WHAT/WHO God is (although the argument assumes some things about God, which are inherent in the meaning of the word "God": mainly, he is eternal, and he is powerful - it is not necessary for him to be good or kind to create the universe!). I merely proved that God exists because the universe exists. You can't refute that. ![]()
I hope I haven't rubbed too many people the wrong way. But, since my argument proves that Atheists are wrong, and Agnostics no longer have a reason to hold to a middle ground, I imagine I have. ![]()
I have created (from a couple different sources) the Simple Argument for the Existence of God. I'll post it for you, because this seems like the place to discuss this kind of topic.
The Simple Argument for the Existence of God is this: start by assuming that God does not exist. If God does not exist, then either the universe is an illusion, or it is real. However, I am thinking. Even if I doubt that I am thinking, the doubting implies that I am thinking, because doubting is a mental action and mental actions require thought. Even if I doubt that I’m doubting, I am still doubting (and, therefore, thinking). Thinking implies that I exist, as nothing that doesn’t exist can think. If I exist, then the whole universe can’t be an illusion, because I am part of the universe and I exist. Therefore, the universe isn’t an illusion - it must be real. If the universe is real, then either the universe has existed forever, or it had a beginning. If it had a beginning, something must have made it. But nothing could have made it because nothing existed before it was made. Therefore, it did not have a beginning. If, however, it existed forever, then, according to the Second Law of Thermodynamics, the universe would have run out of usable energy ages ago (which it clearly has not), because the universe has a finite amount of energy to be used in an infinite period of time. Therefore, it has not existed forever. Since all the possible explanations for the existence of the universe have been disproved if God does not exist, God must exist.
