Covid-19 Discussion (moderated)

Yes work for that cr@p. Don't just eat it for nothing.
Btw I just got infected again for the second time.
We went maskless since August here assuming we had built sufficient tolerance although we rely a lot on public transport since it's good here. The government has also stopped covering the ART at clinics.
Anyway the symptoms don't seem anywhere as bad as the last time.
Even dictators aren't safe.

3 and out.

Symptoms for vaccinated people are rarely bad these days. Viruses evolve towards maximum spread with minimum host killing over time .
Of course, that doesn't change history...except for the people that were not paying any attention in the first place.
Oh know, people are getting sick with a virus. This has never happened in all of human history.
Let's get more reductive. Oh know(sic), people are dying. This has never happened in all of human history. Next.

Over a millions deaths and counting in the US...so if I were you, I would avoid saying stuff like this at parties, or eventually you're going to run into someone that might not appreciate your cavalier attitude...

Dead men don't complain. Hence, Dead man party.

How many deaths today?
How many of those deaths were actually proven COVID?
How many of those dead were younger than 65?
If COVID we're as bad as some would like to say, idillis would be dead.
Considering I hadn't fallen sick for 4 years before my first COVID-19 infection, given that I live, work and travel in close proximity to others, I would say it's taken a toll on my immunity. So for me it's quite bad.
Glad to hear idilis is not on a ventilator.
The ventilator is also pleased I hear

- About 100 deaths
- You don't have to "prove" anything, the doctor reports on the cause of death, and if there is a autopsy, then it may modify the result
- People over 65 also deserve to live

Don't argue with the air.
Sorry to hear you have it again, Idilis. My best friend has had it twice, he's old and it has not left him in great shape. He suffered a stroke afterward and is recovering from both, but doing well.
This has been a terrible scourge on society and it's unfortunate that some still believe the lies they were told from the beginning and never bothered to learn anything about virology. I don't understand people not educating themselves on any one subject. Most subjects do not take a year in college to grasp a basic understanding of. Virology is complicated, but can be understood by anyone willing to put in a few hours study. Kind of like trying to get to the next level in Chess.
The one thing that is different with Covid is that it attacked older people, whereas usually older persons are less susceptible to pandemics, due to having been exposed to more "stuff". The 1918 Flu Pandemic shows a peak of mortality at age 28, in one paper.
*****
The NYTimes has an article 02/13/23 For Older Americans, the Pandemic is Not Over.
Seniors are increasingly left to protect themselves as the rest of the country abandons precautions. "Americans do not agree on their duty to protect others."
*****
One good reason for everyone to keep wearing masks is that we eliminated the Flu while trying to stop Covid. We didn't have any flu. Now everyone is back to having the Flu. Americans are too selfish for our own good. My Doctor laughed at me- "Oh, you're the one wearing the mask in the store. LOL" LOL He says he hasn't seen it lately, and we haven't seen it locally, but it's still around. Better safe than sorry. God Bless you all.

Now it's time to watch Sphere- another All Star Cast + Horrible Script = Turkey. But still fun.
"You made up the report?"
"No, not all of it, I mean, I did research on half of it."
"Well, who did the other half?"
"Well, I, I, I borrowed from, you know, good writers. Isaac Asimov, uh, Rod Serling..."
"Rod Serling?"
"Who would have thought anyone even reads those government reports. What are the odds on that?"
Any movie with Sam Jackson in it is well worth watching.
