It has an epilogue?
Crime Punishment
Yes, the epilogue is about what happens to Raskolnikov and the other characters after he turns himself in. Some believe the epilogue is necessary for closure and to show that Raskolnikov has been redeemed, others believe it lessens the dramatic effect of the novel. I guess both positions are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
I have read Crime and Punishment 4 times and I'm still undecided about the epilogue. Was it necessary?
