'Knowledge' as we use it is only true knowledge when it is common (and we need 'understanding' to see that) so they're the same in reality but I think any particular bit of knowledge is not really knowledge unless you can see or you understand that others can also see that it's knowledge
Difference Between Knowledge and Understanding
So when you 'understand' something is beautiful you see and expect that everyone else thinks that it's beautiful too
Knowledge is imitation of the law as in skill, and understanding is giving the law by seeing how this knowledge is common. So knowledge how means understanding but knowledge that is not knowledge until it is confirmed so to speak by the other
To produce a skill it's sufficient to know "how to do it" really means to know the technique. To produce art it's necessary to understand how without previous objectual or propositional knowledge
This video clip sums this thread up really well I think.

I'd say that you can't truly know something unless you understand it. I could hear every word of Spanish but couldn't say I know it because I wouldn't understand it.
My question to you would be what's the difference between belief and knowledge ?
Lmao X. Soo the knowledge gained by watching tv isn't considered prior knowledge? Whatever way you're spinning it, you're just shooting yourself in the foot. Why say you understand by rubbing two sticks together it will cause heat in the first place? If you didn't know such an action would produce heat, how the heck would you "understand" by rubbing any two random sticks together would or ever could produce fire? Heh. Funny guy.

But the question is do they know how to pay back
It's a redundant question, since we already know that Germany and other EU countries already has given the modern greeks a free lunch. They can thank the ancient greeks for that favor.
This might sound like greek to many americans, but that's only because they don't understand what we Europeans know about greek economy.
All the while reasoning that you have a (common) goal in life
