🌟🌌Dimension Hoppers [RP Remake]🌌🌟
walks across
[Fire]: I really don’t know anything about here, so I’ll probably do whatever you guys say
[Fire]: If getting here, I walked the portal and the walkway
But if you mean the everything, I suddenly appeared here
The walkway seems to lead to nowhere in particular, the metal being constructed in front of you as you go, on and on for what feels like dozens of minutes but is really only four. Eventually it becomes apparent to you the destination. It doesn’t appear, nor rise up from the depths like a slumbering giant. It just allows you to behold it in your eye.
To call it grand would be an over exaggeration. It’s certainly very big, but that’s the only thing grand about it. Your destination is one gigantic steel cube devoid of any discernible features, other than the hydraulic door in front of you. A minute of walking through the toxic air lands you in front of those heavy doors.
After a moment of hesitation, the door opens for the delivery party, revealing the inside with a hiss of dramatic smoke. Before the cloud of suspense can dissipate, you’re all pushed into the building by Augment. Where he got this ability to push you all is unknown.
To say the inside of the cube is a massive change from the outside is an understatement. For one there’s breathable air in here that’s cool and NOT coated in fumes and bits of burnt material. The second thing is that it’s actually pretty stylized instead of just being a featureless box like the rest of the world.
The inside is neo-gothic in appearance and make, the inside painted a dark gray and light black. The materials used seem to be entirely in-organic, made of stone, bricks, or iron, not a lick of wood in sight. The place looks like it was went over with a fine tooth comb, a master stonemason and architect in every corner, yet symmetrical enough to be satisfying.
Decorating the sides of the hall are painted glass windows to nowhere, yet with a scarlet faux sunlight pouring through them all the same. Each one depicts a great act, one of divine power, a scene you cannot make out. There are statues and sculptures lining the halls on both sides, mainly of inanimate objects, sometimes of robots. You spot a statue of a Servitor on your way in, towering over you all, sword gripped upside down. All throughout the halls, imagery of eyes haunt your every step.
Augment hums a jolly tune you can’t pin.
”Continue on, continue on. Only a short while to go to the boss! Just follow the yellow paint line.”
Sure enough, there’s a yellow paint line leading to where the boss is presumably located.
The walk forth continues on for some time, the same statues going on and on as you venture deeper and deeper into the belly of the beast. If anything, the place just seems to get grander and grander as you go on. The stained glass windows, undecipherable in their holiness, get larger and larger, and the feeling of hallowed reverence grows.
Well, to call it reverence is sort of a stretch. Does an ant feel reverence when it looks up at the boot that is a millimeter away from crushing it? Do the chickens in the farmhouse yard feel reverence when the farmer doesn't take them away to be slaughtered? Do the weak and small feel reverence when in the shadow to the big and strong? You are tiny, a grain of sand in the desert, a drop of water in the ocean, and all the focus of God is on you alone.
The hall isn't just a prolonged entryway to the room of the boss, there's other rooms to the side as well. They're few and far between, mostly just incomprehensible machinery and tech that seems without purpose. The one room that is obvious in its purpose is one to the right. It's a smaller, circular one, filled with different types of machinery that sort of looks like the MK-00.1 Fixer Upper back in the Dimension Hopper HQ. There are at least a baker's dozen of those robot arms with welding machines and wrenches and industrial tweezers and pieces of metals, and nail guns that look like regular nail guns but more futuristic.
The target of all this hubbub is the defunct machine body of the Eliminator. Its not active, still "dead" from your last encounter, but from the looks of it, it won't be for much longer. Augment comments about this.
"Oh! That's PPA-04! Inferior machine if you ask me, but the boss doesn't think so. Got in a little altercation I heard and didn't make it out so squeaky clean. It's undergoing extensive repairs, and some upgrades! Going to be good as new, hell, good as better in around four weeks. Maybe more."
It takes a little while, but the Overseer Drone arrives in a blaze of orange light, really the only hint of color in this place. The design is simple, just a sphere with some futuristic jet boosters and a glowing orange camera/eye in the middle. When it speaks to address you, there’s a horrifying realization, one that would knock people unconscious with its terror. The drone speaks in a slightly British accent.
”Hello there! I’m PPA-02, but you can call me AUGMENT. Sure it stands for something, but I can’t quite remember. Oh right, you’re here to see the boss. Right this way, right this way.”
Augment darts around likes it’s high on sugar, taking a good long look at everyone in the delivery party during its speech, except Ato, who looks absolutely petrified. The drone pauses and turns around to face the landscape.
On cue, a walkway begins to rise above the metal floor and churning machinery, being constructed as it rises. The drone waits for you all to go first.
