Alright, I’m out. A couple of you guys rule, but the rest…..

I’ve sworn to leave the chess.com forums, but keep returning expecting a greater level of emotional maturity / compassion and a higher level of discourse. I think tonight did it. These people run a scorched Earth set of forums.

This garden of the 'intellectually superior' do things like shove religion in your face and claim (ludicrously and at length) that chess is a sport. A SPORT! As if the guy moving the pieces for the quadriplegic would get the medal, you know? I’m a damn s&c coach and whatever science I try to bring is twisted like a mobius strip. (I was also told that perspective means I don’t understand martial arts, despite being a krav maga practitioner and judoka since forever 🤷‍♂️)

I don’t mean to sound like a puss. I wouldn’t shy away from a good argument. I’m just not gonna call it home. Especially when you’re not actually arguing - you’re just fighting to grasp logic.
It’s like a whole community of fragile, but unrelenting egos, where kindness is only a breath away from weakness. Like everyone here is constantly bullied irl.

I came here tonight to try to forget about ‘her’, and now just wish this was all in person bc I want to displace-fracture a couple particular users’ mandibles with my elbow. (How’s that for AMA honesty?)

What does it take to get banned so that I can’t even read responses to this? I'mma try a string of expletives too see if that does it.
