Do You Think it is Good to Listen to Music While Playing?

Sometimes it is distracting but yet peaceful.

for me it depends , some people get distracted with music but others are motivated

I can't tell if is good or not, maybe it was distracting, but i enjoy more the games with music. I prefer long instrumental or ambient pieces while playing or doing any other job pc-related.

Try listening to hip hop while playing a game.

Classical music would probably be the most beneficial, but if a hip hop song or some metal gets you amped up for a fight, why not? I do find Avenged Sevenfold's "Hail To The King" to be particularly motivating, as well as a fitting song in that it has a loose relation to chess. If I ever enter a chess tournament, wouldn't it make for quite the entrance if I walked into the room like a prize fighter in a robe with a crew following behind me holding up a stereo blaring this? 

(12/25/15) I often listen to music, but it needs to something without words and that I know well. Right now I'm listening to Mannheim Steamroller Christmas music (the best!). Check it out on YouTube!
