DUOLINGO HAS INFLATION!
I have to say that since I switched to free Duolingo, I too find that a pain. I had 10,000 gems at one point, but now it's not much more than half that, and most of those were spent on legendary. Spending them at the same rate as they are earned is quite restrictive, even if you avoid spending any on streak freezes.
I have had inflation in the number of languages. Although I have dropped a couple, I am now learning 7.
Added Latin, which makes it 8. It's fun, because if you do one lesson of each, it doesn't seem like much compared to stacking 8 lessons in 1 language. On the downside, it takes a long time to progress.
The main difficulty is confusing related languages (especially Norwegian/Swedish/Danish. I have got into the habit of separating lessons in those with lessons in contrasting languages.
I don’t even get why they would raise the price though.
it would make sense if you could buy gems with real money, cause then you run out of gems sooner, then buy more gems more often. so more money to duolingo.
but you cant buy gems, so the only reason that i can think of that they would raise the price would be so people have to decide between learning slower or buying premium. which is more money to duolingo, so I guess that does make sense after all.
still greedy though
DUOLINGO RAISED THE PRICE OF A CHALLENGE FROM 80 GEMS TO 100 GEMS!! THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!
Meet me on the white house lawn on May 1st for a riot!!
Let me know your thoughts on this issue.
