I have never been able to keep a favorite song, band, artwork, or even movie for very long. Just when I think "This is it! Nothing gets better!" I find something better, or at least different. Luckily, I have a fairly wide taste in music so there is always another favorite just around the corner. Lyrics don't usually mean much to me. If I like the music I'll like the song. If I don't like the music I won't like the song. Anyway, here are a few I'm usually happy to hear.
Hard rock
Classical - Winter is my favorite of Vivaldi's Four Seasons
English folk music - some nice jamming in this one
Why can't a Christmas Carol be a favorite song? This is a beautiful version.
