Tell us first how to troll from "Libya". I heard Libya is in chaos now?

not enough chaos to not have someone like you banned for life in the lybian chess community. you are a shame to your peers and you know it.

only thing worse than a sore loser is a cheating sore loser.

And shortly, someone's account looks likely to be closed. You can't even get your country's name right, lmao.

What kind of proxy you're using?

Anything skill based, unfortunately is most likely susceptible to being incorporated into a cheat program, of some sort.

I am always baffled by those who have the means and intellect to create a cheat program but, that is what they waste their time on.

I was thinking the use of the "GM", before the name of a infamous dictator is also surprisingly telling, if you really want to psychoanalyze the guys identity... lol

Me too. I always wondered why some people would go to the extent of hacking the Yahoo timer so that their time doesn't run out. I seen all kinds of stuff there....amazing. Cool

I'm from a country where it's the other way round with the "i" and "y" in Libya. I hope you can forgive me.

and I'm not using any kind of proxy btw, it's perfectly visible for staff to see from where i write. I just put libya because it supports the whole gaddafi joke. but i don't have to explain this to you right? you seem to be way too smart for this. or at least smart enough to out yourself as a cheater.

Since you brought it up, could you show a transliterated set of alphabets for comparison....?

Yes, he is clearly here to provoke and troll, hence the username.

I know these types. Cool Psychology was one of my interests.

He is also basically saying, he will dictate and be a GM, here at chess.com. He even wants to make sure we all know this...

...by the way, his English is too good and he is too accustomed to how uncommon western literature is presented. You can see it by his use of particular characters. Most people who aren't using their primary language, would go to such lengths to articulate, whenever there are several shortcuts to communicating the same information.

How easy really is it to cheat in tactics trainer though? I've only seen one person who had very obviously cheated (3800+ in TT, no exaggeration) and I'm not entirely sure how he did it, but I check the ratings of pretty much everyone I play and their ratings seem fine. I don't think many people could input the position into an engine quickly enough to gain points on the puzzle, is what I'm saying really.

There are two ways and one does still take some work...

So the other way doesn't take much work at all? I don't want to know what it is but I assume most people don't know how to do it, otherwise I expect I'd have ran into lots of players with ridiculously good TT ratings.

There are, I don't want to say it, and I don't even want to know how it's done...lol. For example, people who have their TT ratings increase like magic, while their solve percentage stays more or less the same. It (the rating) doesn't have to be sky high. Just like we have long established that cheaters don't have to have high ratings.

I think if people wanted to search for the ways to do it here, they would find the methods. So what are the chances that there won't be abuse? What are the odds?

Tactics Trainer numbers are meaningless. They have no relation to finding cheaters. My numbers for instance stay the same as I almost always use it "unrated". I like taking my time, and I often use it during TV commercials. Occasionally I'll turn rating back on, but that's rare.

I beg to differ. You lose valuable points to a cheater. This is reason enough for enragement. At least for me. That's why I stopped playing rated games. I'm not here to get cheated out of my points by pathetic scumbag cheaters.

It may not be indicative of the skill of the player but, that works both ways. Don't naively think that chess.com isn't capable of finding a player's manipulation of the trainer and seeing indicators of the true skill of the player, somewhere along the way.

"Valuable Points"? How are these imaginary ratings points of an value to anyone other than ourselves to see our progress? They don't equate to real ratings. Any points you gain or lose on this site are simply guides to help you see improvement. And to help you and others match up with similar level players. They aren't of any value.

That's exactly the point, bro. If I worked hard and know that I have improved but my rating on chess.com stays the same or even drops because I keep getting cheated out of my points - that to see is depressing and at the same time infuriating.

Avatar of Spiritbro77

If you get cheated and know it then you know the rating is off by that many points. Besides, you're not working for POINTS, you're working to improve your chess. Personally, I don't care what my rating points are. All I care about is improvement. If chess.com reset the ratings back to 1200 tomorrow wouldn't bother me a bit. It wouldn't take away the progress I've made the last year....

Without a reasonably accurate rating system, it is rather difficult to know how you are improving, unless you compare yourself to an engine. Anyone advocating periodic determination of improvement, without anything worthwhile for juxtaposition, either has no idea what their talking about, or thinks they are fooling others by snidely being a cheater apologist.

Avatar of Spiritbro77

Oh, I see. So because I'm not wildly waving my hands in the air screaming "the world's coming to an end because I lost 20 rating points to a cheater, we're all doomed" I'm a cheater apologist? *snicker* Have it your way. Anyone that doesn't agree that rating numbers are the end all be all of the game are cheating apologists....  blah blah woof woof.

It's the people that care so damned much about meaningless rating numbers that end up cheating to improve those numbers.

It think a great way to cut down on cheating would be for the ratings numbers to be private. Only a player can see his or her own rating. Others can't....

I didn't say that was the only option...

I do find it noteworthy though, it is easier to tell me I don't know what I am talking about, instead of considering that you don't, but hey, whatever. Other people can read and make up their own mind. Sometimes things need said, after others start flapping their gums. Unfortunately, that duty falls to me sometimes...Undecided
