I find them distracting, mainly in Live. Don't mind them in general and don't really mind a few loops. It's the infinite loops I don't care for

I think gif avatars have renewed a new interest in this site.
It's like a marriage... after 5 years (well in my case one year 
) ... you need to find new things to do to liven things up.
I'm still trying to find a Suicide bomber gif and then plan to apply for membership to all the Islamic teams. That should go well.

Still confused. My comment above was that I changed a setting on my Firefox to stop the animation. Unless the site changes something, then the gifs should still be available.
