I've frequently enjoyed pointing out God condoned genocide, particularly against the Canaanites.

Another one I like is how God forces the pharaoh to not let the Israelites go (it says God hardens his heart) that way God has an excuse to kill innocent children (plague of the firstborn).

All of this is besides the point. I pointed out your being proud of your unapologetic violence is very un-Christian. You tried to dodge by making the discussion about the Bible instead, which was fine, it's a silly tactic, but at least respectable in terms of, I don't know, the way common idiots "debate" things.

But when you pulled the "you misquoted me" thing... oh man, I've only ever seen senile people do that, to be honest.

I mean, who knows, a mod might lock it (sometimes they're hard to predict) but more than a few times I've seen them allow religious debate to go on and on this last year.

so far mexi has given one of only two good reasons about why people might have guns. 

he wrote that he liked to shoot. there is nothing wrong with people like him going to a range. a guy like gomer also appears reasonable enough to handle a lethal weapon. this needs to be said, because, unfortunately, the 2nd amendment is not going away due to political influence (read: money), and we have people like exploringWAH! and unclepeter for the proliferation of any and every firearm. they are not reasonable people.

(before the usual suspects write that a car or a hammer is a lethal weapon, save it. those products have designed uses that are not for intentionally killing)

then we have the typical wrong talking points about guns being trotted out as if they are fact (washington examiner op-eds do NOT count as facts or evidence). 

guns are NOT primarily used for self-defense by non-police or military.

more guns does NOT equate to a safer environment.

more guns equals more killing.

guns are NOT for residents to protect themselves against a tyrannical government (anyone using this excuse is the opposite of a mensa member).

concealed carry is a whole other issue. many states (guess which ones) have passed laws eliminating the permitting. as if that makes the populace more safe.

finally, the second 'good' reason one might have for owning a gun is if they are an avid hunter (though, many of the hunters i have known use a bow and arrow, explaining that takes more skill). i guess i could be convinced that another reason might be collecting, like antiques or baseball cards. 

Nahhh… not even close! I’ve never read that art of war, nor would I ever begin to but I’m sure it’s true author is every bit of the confliction in The Holy Scriptures. In fact, such that individual is the only lousy reason for the concept such as confliction, or war, or chaos, or ANY ABSURDITY.
