Yes I know about history. I know that once upon a time military might was numbers and tactics. I know that wars were fought on battlefields and in trenches.
Times have changed tho. So has war. Arming the American people wouldn’t stop an attack on America by a foreign power. It didn’t stop a terrorist attack 20 years ago. Nor will arming the people prevent a civil war. It would just make it more devastating.
When will you boys learn, guns, missiles, warships, nuclear bombs, etc. will only ever bring death and destruction. Not peace and safety. Wether it be on a small or large scale.

Again, we are not talking about invasion by a foreign power. That would currently be nearly impossible. We are talking about a takeover by a tyrannical person or government, which is a threat all free people through history have been menaced with. Against that an armed and determined citizenry is the strongest deterrent. Just use common sense, and look at wars like Vietnam and the multiple Afghanistan wars by powers such as Great Britain, the USSR, and the USA for an example of what such resistance would be like to quell.
