Depends on how you define a mass shooting, but the FBI's data on "active shooter incidents", which they define as one or more people trying to kill others in a populated area, states that 38 people were killed in that manner in the year 2020.
That's in a country with a population of about 350 million.

Mass shootings do not kill nearly as much as knives, Bats, fists, etc.
The government should not take away our rights over non threats, or even threats. Never trade freedom for security. Your chances of getting shot in a mass shooting is basically 0. And some people get so scared of that that they want all their guns taken away. It's just fear for no reason
Considering that that genocidal governments have killed like a 100 millions people the last century and mass shooting probably less than 5000, I'd say the smart person would want to have their weapons

You can get guns illegally. If you are impatient you can use a knife or machete! See India, the UK etc…

The Ukrainian government have given out 18000 machine guns to anyone who wants one as well as instructions on how to make molotov cocktails. They will be fighting trained soldiers with tank and air support.

Yes. I was working in Gjakove, Kosova. Earlier the Serbian solders had attacked and the villagers fought. Everyone of them went up the hill to take on the forces. Everyone of them is in the graveyard on that hill. From the 14 year old boy to the 72 year old lady.
