Happy Day of the Dead

Fun fact: the Day of the Dead is in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Dias de los muertos is a really important holiday for me. My abuelo died when I was 6 due to a stroke and I still miss him. It kind of make me feel closer to him in a way. yk

Today in Mexico (and many other countries), a colorful celebration is held to honor the spirits of those who left our world. Key words: colorful celebration, because this isn’t a day of mourning; it’s a day to remember and cherish our loved ones’ lives.
On this day, people typically create altars/ofrendas, which include the person who passed on’s picture, along with colorful flowers, bright candles, and the objects they held dear in life, as well as pan de muerto, a delicious sweet bread. Some people visit cemeteries instead.
On this day, I ask you to take a look back and remember those who you held dear when they were still here, and not mourn them, but rather celebrate their lives.
¡Feliz Día de Muertos!
me encanta el pan dulce
