Help! Anyone have tips for living as blind?

Help, please. Are there any tips you know for living as a blind person. It's most likely only a matter of time, before both eyes only see black. So please post what you know!

There are some, owned by some blind people around here. Looked that up, probably not. Different reason, a gradual decline in sight in the last 12 years, just woke up today, could hardly see out of the left eye, and they both felt as if on fire. Not, sure on the cause of such, hardly ever go to a doctor. It's a rare visit. A cause may be as a kid, liked looking up at the sun from time to time, thinking about it's beauty.

Please don't feel 'sorry' anyone reading this. No sympathy needed. If you have some tips living blind, then please share them, if not good day.

I am half blind I don't see on my right eye. I have Retina Detachment on that eye. But I still play chess that problem don't stop me to play chess.
