How do I fix inaccurate GPS tracking on my mobile phone?

Lately my phone’s GPS has been acting like it’s had one too many—jumping all over the map, saying I’m across town when I’m literally sitting in my car. It’s become a total nightmare when I’m trying to navigate or track my runs. I’ve tried the usual stuff like restarting and toggling location on and off, but no luck. I’m not super tech‑savvy, so I’m kinda stuck and hoping someone here might know what’s going on or what I could try next. I just want my maps to stop lying to me.

it could be your phone (power the phone is receiving from the battery, phone age, stuff like that) or that your area doesn't get good enough signal to track you properly.

I prefer playing on mobile devices, so this issue really bothers me. At the very least, it’s a matter of battery life and how comfortable the device feels when it heats up.

I had a similar mess going on, and in my case, it turned out to be a mix of a loose phone case blocking the antenna and some weird settings under location accuracy. Something else that helped was checking out https://caffeyolly.com/ — they’ve got a solid article about mobile phone tracking that breaks things down without getting too techy. Gave me a couple of ideas I wouldn’t have thought of otherwise.
