HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT TO ACCEPT A FRIEND REQUEST?

I was thinking about this today as I was accepting one friend request but then declining another. The second person was a young man without a shirt, with "I Love Myself" as a message to the chess.com community. I didn't care for his narcissistic attitude nor for his absence of a shirt! I have other guidelines, which I'll share with you eventually but first, I'm interested in finding what YOUR guidelines are. Remember, no names are to mentioned when discussing a declined friend request.

I wish I could say the same - maybe it's different for guys and girls. As a woman, I've had many, um, experiences that were less than ideal, let's just say.

I also will not accept a friend request from someone who has ANYTHING creepy about his or her username. That may sound silly and/or superstitious but so be it.

I know - I never used to check the pfp's before I accepted. Now I ALWAYS check. I seem to be a troll magnet - I dk why!

However, it also says "Jesus Christ is King" on my pfp and I assumed that most guys would think, oh GREAT, she's a religious nut so she won't be any fun.

I'm very shy. I only have a few friends in my rolodex on chess.com because I was genuinely interested in the topics they discussed.

I follow that rule too.
