Well I've just read thru the 19 pages of this thread and it is a good thing that I was eating my Supper at the beginning. Yup with all of the good food pictured here I would have been awfully hungry by the end of the thread  lol.

I will add that about 1/3 of the population appears to be able to burn carbs without significant problems.

maybe my speculation is because i am one of those.

it does seem that (most) people that are active have no issue with carbs.

I don't know, I'm leaning toward believing that it has little to do with activity level and more with genetics. I thought the two documentaries "Cereal Killers 1 & 2" were fairly interesting.

One outfit that I want to mention here is the Rubschlager Bakery of Chicago ( established  way back in 1913 ). They produce some good bread including a very nice Bavarian Rye which costs nearly $ 5 dollars up here ( about $4 dollars US ).

Potato bread is pretty common here where I live:)

---   Oh yeah I was going to mention that a local supermarket here has been selling a Potato Loaf Bread ( called Yukon Gold ) for a couple of years now. At first I was just going to ignore it but I've come to like the stuff, it is about $3.50 in US funds.

Well according to the label they do add some onion to the bread for extra flavour and it is not a bad bread. My regular breads are mainly the rye breads but I find that the potato loaf is a nice change ( Edit: sorry I had a little error there  lol ).

so is it onion bread or a potato bread?  or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potato_onion

I don't think that I've had onion bread but years back I was quite fond of raisin bread.

Not totally related but this is what authentic curry chicken beehoon (vermicelli) looks like.  So without the noodles,  it goes really well with bread as well.
