My parents still insist on using the same computer from...oh I don't know, I think around 1993.  I know it has too be old since it started on Windows 95 and upgraded all the way to Windows 7.  I don't know how the thing is still alive.

My laptop is fairly new.  I got it after my last one caught on fire when the thermal paste melted and proceeded to melt the parts inside my laptop.

netzach

hmm.. I have melted quite a few. Hewlett-Packards are particularly cooperative. Better get smoke-detectors. :)

My laptop is too. I made a mistake earlier, its AFTER 2010. My bad.

Laughing I hope you were wise enough to get another brand.

My son has a ''Samsung'' laptop that is impressively reliable despite the battering it receives.

Conquistador

Yeah, no more msi laptops for me lol.  There were sounds coming from that fire hazard that should not be coming from a laptop.

How can your computer from 1993-ish even run Windows 7..? I guess it's possible if you upgrade it enough.

Conquistador

I have no idea.  The computer would get close to death and then they would upgrade it instead of getting a new computer.

I just read that the first personel computer came out in 1981, weighed 25 pounds, and cost $3,000.00.

Computers cost a fortune in the 1980's and early 90's. Its great that they are cheap now.
