Yesterday my neighbors cat scratched me on the face, I have a big scratch mark going down the side of my face, it was still the cutest cat ever though.

very much depends on the animal, because then it can be any of the following options (with examples):
-murder indiscriminately (seagulls, most insects, etc)
-occasionally treat nicely (foxes, opossums, pigs, etc)
-become friends (cats, dogs, etc)
-don't touch with a 50 foot pole (any type of otter, seagulls, wolverines/badgers, hippos)
-protect but stay away (most endangered animals)
