Should more likely belong in site feedback as the whole thread has been about the experience of the user in various aspects.
I Just Realized...

There are many more posts that start at absolutely brain-numb that don’t get bumped to off-topic. At least be consistent.

Lol, I wrote a detailed post about my last run-in with the auto-filter, but when I tried to post it, I got a 404 error (obviously because the topic was moved to off-topic while I was writing my post), and I lost the whole post...
Which is the other problem...when posts are being submitted and they fail due to the red banner of death or 404 error, at least present the text of the failed post so it can be copied and not lost .
Anyway, I got auto-muted after trying to post a long quoted reply, getting the red banner, going through it with a fine tooth comb and resubmitting, then getting auto-muted. It happens (shouldn't maybe, but it does)...but the most annoying part was the reply from the CS rep who tried to tell me that my post was auto-muted for length (!?!) or that I was spamming (!?!), 2 behaviors the auto-mute mechanism does not check for . Then I was told that I should be careful, that the next auto-mute could be irrevocable, or that the system could ban me. Two more behaviors that I do not believe the auto-muting filter mechanism to be capable of.
It's a combination of factors...lack of adequate training and communication to CS reps about how these systems actually work, and a desire to get the ticket closed quickly, so skip the research and make up a reason.
Now, let me be careful and copy this post before I hit submit...wouldn't want to lose it...

Same thing happened to me, only mine was short.

Hey @Itude can you post a snippet of how they credited you some time for what you were muted for? I didn’t think so.

Speaking of warnings, I was warned about using the "C" word once today. You know, the thing that's been infecting much of the planet for the past year. I was told that I couldn't be told why that word is now as bad as the "N" word. Anybody know why? It seems like that's something everybody should be, and are, talking about.
All you need to understand is this :
"We can even agree on that you did not name and shame"
Get it ? I never named and shamed anyone !!
But I got muted for it anyway
What does this mean?
but sometimes even when you say obvious things on someone, it can fall under that categorization.
It means, the bots they use are not sophisticated enough to tell the difference !
However it seems they take the most serious action ..whatever.
Then you have to contact a person, and explain why the bot was "dumb"
So far I have "won" every time.
The bots were dumb.......however in some cases I still served the mute. despite an agreement from chess.com that in fact I had done nothing wrong..at all
Put in a suggestion that for every day one is improperly automuted, he receives a day of free diamond membership in partial compensation (not that they ever actually read the suggestions).
